Vintage Bird Card

I'm absolutely thrilled to be working with Ali Manning and her Vintage Page Designs Etsy shop and blog. She has created some divine limited edition vintage page and image kits. Her first kit Vintage Birds will be released on thursday 3rd may. Here's my first card with the kit:
I have clear embossed onto the text, then gently sponged to create the background. I then did a little bit of fussy cutting around the kingfisher and popped him onto a pretty die cut. I then added the bow, using some of the gorgeous vintage seam binding that Ali has in her shop.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Mess Challenge Distressing or embossing.
Paper craft bliss vintage Fashionable Stampers Embossing

Don't forget to pop over to Ali's blog for more details and to see what the other guest designers have come up with.

Have a great week. Debi x

Autumn Colours

I think I've decided that autumn is perhaps my fav season. Being here in the Southern Hemisphere means while the rest of my blogging friends are madly blogging their Spring creations, I'm inspired by the stunning autumn leaves.
Here are my one layer ( I know 1 layer moi??? lol) autumn inspired trio of cards, I'm really pleased how they've turned out.

I masked off an area on the card, then embossed with copper embossing powder, I then sponged and inked the masked area and added a sentiment.
sorry the quality of the photos is poor, but that's the thing about autumn, shorter days :-)

I made these cards with the last Gingersnap Creations challenge in mind, which of course is a Copper Rust Colour challenge. I'm sad that Gingersnap challenges are finishing as I've found them so inspiring, when I started crafting seriously 2 years ago, I used to look and dream that one day I might be good enough to be a Ginger Gem. And I'm blessed to have been picked many times and also a Guest Designer last year. I'll miss you guys!!!

Ink it Up!

It was lovely to see all the musical creations in our last challenge, Hazel will be picking the winners, but meanwhile Nikki has challenged us to Ink It Up!! In other words lets see those stamping creations, no digis allowed :-)

Here's my inky creation:

I've used a new stamp I've just got from Rogue Redhead Design Rubber stamps, who also happen to be the lovely sponsor for this challenge.

I've done a lot of sponging on this card, I sponged the DSP and the cardstock, then stamped the die cut cardstock. I then stamped and coloured my image, cut it out and lifted it up on dimensional foam.
I've added some yummy lace and velvet ribbon from my stash.

I'm also entering this card in to the following challenges:

Seaside Tag

I've created this tag for the Reader Art Quest 1 over at Unruly Paper Arts. Where they're asking us to use our sponges.

Starting with a Manila tag I've masked and sponged to create the background, I've then stamped the 2 children on separate cardstock, colour them with Prismacolor pencils, and popped them on the tag with dimensional foam, add some seashells and ribbon and we're done.

Oceans of Love

I recently added a whole heap of goodies to my stash, including these lovely stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs and some Ranger color wash inks and masks.

This background was the first one I created using direct to paper technique as my base layer, followed by popping on a mask then spraying liberally with the colour wash inks and smooch.
I cut one piece for the background paper, and cut a frame with a die from Spellbinders, with another piece.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

the Reader art quest 2 at Unruly Paper Arts- Inky backgrounds.
