Shadow Bird

The sun was shining today- Hurrah, for we've had torrential rain for what seems like ages so it was such a joy to see the sun today.

I started with a manila tag, then sprayed with Dylusions Sprays and some Tattered Angels. then I added some tissue tape and sprayed again. Then I stamped using Black Staz On using the Rogue Redhead Designs Floriculture Set.

To create my Shadow Bird I made my own mask using the cut out of the Die Cut bird and sprayed with Dylusions London Blue. I then used a marker to add some definition as well as a hand cut heart which I painted with gold acrylic paint and sprayed with some red, and finally added some Crystal Effects.
There's also some gold acrylic paint on the tag and some beeswax to add a bit some texture to my shadow bird.

I'm entering this over at Simon says Stamp and Show where Anything Goes :-)

Charms or Pins

We had some lovely entries for our Fashion theme, Hazel's going to have a great time choosing her Top 3 :-)
For our next challenge Nikki's chosen Charms or Pins, and we're being sponsored by Crafty Individuals

I've created another 12 x 12 scrapbook page of my ancestors- I'm very lucky to have all these old family photos- I've barely scratched the surface in scrapbooking these- remember though always scan and reprint these precious photos, I would never use the original.

I've used Graphic 45 Papers, and added more interest by embossing

Simple Journal Cover

I just wanted to quickly share with you the journal I created from just a plain black sketchbook. This journal's a special one, so I wanted it to look nice but not too fussy as it gets a lot of use.

First I wanted the journal to be more nice to hold, so I hot glued some bamboo quilting filler to the front cover. I the took a piece of the Stampin' Up! fabric from the soon to retire Deck the Halls Collection, and covered the front and back using one piece, again attaching with the hot glue gun :-)

I then added some nice SU ribbon and lace so I can tie the journal shut from nosey eyes ;-). Finally I added a chipboard Kaisercraft piece to the front.

On the inside covers I glued some of my fav Kaisercraft patterned paper from the Bonjour Collection.

I'm entering this over at Unruly Paper Arts Reader Quest 1, where we're asked to show our journal creation :-)

Have a great week.

More Beach Babes

I've created this green and gold tag with Beach Babes from the new release Gecko Galz Collage sheet. I love how they're very 1950's and slightly risque :-)
I've created this background with Dylusions Inks, beeswax and embossing powder. I also used a shell stamp image from the retired Stampin Up! Set Seaside.
I'm entering this over at the Gecko Galz Yahoo Group Colour Challenge- Green and Gold.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Tropical Summer

Here's my latest card for Gecko Galz, you should check out the site before the end of August, as there's a current special offer. Gecko Galz has also gone Cyber, with Pinterest, Facebook, Etsy and Twitter :-)

For my tropical Summer card I've used one of the new release collage Beach Babe images and then created a scene with some simple masking and sponging and adding some stamps from Gina K. Some paper, hessian and twine from my stash.

I'm entering this card over at Simon says Stamp and Show where they're asking us to share our favourite techniques. Which for me, is creating scene cards with masking and sponging and stamping
:-)

Gecko Galz Aloha Twinchies

Here are my creations for Gecko Galz this month. Leanne has created some gorgeous collage sheets this month. For this trio of twinchies, I used the Summer Jewels Sheet.

Starting with my usual chipboard and tissue tape base, I've then coloured, stamped and embossed. Then I added the images and some sparkle from seashells and glitter.

I inked all the edges and added a beeswax layer, which has given them a lovely 50's retro feel.

my own personal prize for a vintage style card that I love: coupon for $20 in my shop (with free shipping)

all competitors who will send their works to this challenge will receive a special 12% discount using this code in my shop.   Code to use GMABP

Wow!!!! Leo's been so generous to all our followers :-) You deserve it you guys are great!

The lovely Hazel, has chosen the theme for this challenge, she's chosen Fashion as the theme, and she especially loves 1950's fashion because it reminds her of the dresses her mum used to wear. Seems like a few of the DT me included felt the same.

We're still in winter here in New Zealand, so sorry the photos a bit darker than I'd like, I've been waiting in vain for it to get brighter.

Have a great week, I can't wait as usual to see what you all come up with.

Journal Page

I've been doing more with acrylic paint gesso and sprays recently both on canvas and in journals. Here's a page from today.

I started by gessoing and spraying with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist, and while still wet mixing in the  spray. I waited for this to completely dry. I then put the page face down on my craft sheet where there was some spray left from another project. I added tissue tape, which i coloured with Versa Colour ink pad and gold acrylic paint.
I stamped with stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs Carnival Dream set- the couple and stars.
I then sprayed some more, added a big streak of Arcylic paint which I dry heated with my heat tool, to create bubbles.
I then coloured and added my words with pens and markers.

I'm entering this page into the following challenges:

Paint it at Simon Says Stamp and Show

and Anything Goes over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges where it's their 1st birthday :-)
