Moonlight Circus Party

It's time for the Moonlight Circus Blog Party! This is my first Blog Party, I've made various Circus Creations for this post:

The Moonlight Circus set up the Big Top in the Forest Glade. The moon shone down on the pretty trapezee girls, the tightrope walker and the clowns. What delicious fun!

The popcorn was popping, the balloons were blue... but where are you?

You, just can't get enough of those pretty girls on the trapezee.

and what about the popcorn and cup cakes?

I Hope you've enjoyed my Moonlight Circus Party post, have a great day everyone and enjoy dancing in the Moonlight. xx

Carnival Dreams

I think this stamp set is probably my absolute fav of all the Rogue Redhead designs. It's called Carnival Dreams, I just love this particular stamp - The Lovers.

To create this one layer card, I sprayed with Dylusions inks, then stamped my images with black Staz On, and then coloured with prismacolor Pencils and Metallic pens.

I love how it's turned out.

Countryside Scene

I love all types of cards, and I just love this new set Countryside from Stampin Up! I couldn't wait to create a scene card with it. I've combined with the Lovely as a Tree set- also Stampin Up!

I've masked and watercoloured to create the scene.

I'm entering this card into the Craft a Scene with the theme-trees

1973

We had some lovely and varied pieces for our Collage Challenge at Craft Room Challenge. For our next challenge the lovely talented Maria has chosen the theme of Childhood Memories, with the request that our piece contains some real inspiration from our memories and that it contains some stamping (no digis for this challenge please).

For me it had to be a scrapbook page, this photo was taken of me in 1973, it's a fav of my parents, it was taken in Newquay, UK.

I'm pleased how it's turned out- it's busy but there's space too.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Tando Creative

Don't forget to check out the other DT creations.

Christmas card

Figured I might as well throw this Christmas card into the Just Add Ink Challenge too. This was the first card I made with the colour combo. Still not sure about it, but anyway here it is:

It's amazing to me how the same colours can produce such a different look in a different combination.

Always

I've made this card for the Just Add Ink colour combo challenge:

At first thought I thought these colours shouted Christmas, and I did make a christmas card using the colours, but just didn't like how it turned out.

I then quickly through this CAS card together in about 10 minutes- that's often the way isn't it?
This is a new Stampin' Up! set Affection Collection which I just love!

Simply Monochrome

I love this image from the Rogue Redhead Designs Relish Reading set, it lends itself to watercolouring easily. To create this simple card I wet embossed the image then watercoloured it using various pink tones. I then added a sentiment from The Beach Babes set and added some pearls.  A pretty yet simple card achieved :-)

Industrial Tag

I had some spare time today so I had a go and made my version of Tim's September Tag, I got real excited as I loved the riveted metal look. It reminded me straight away of the industrial revolution. Many of my paternal ancestors worked as brass casters and later as sheet metal workers, so this struck a real cord with me. Here's an old family photo, my great grandfather worked as a brass caster in Birmingham, England, he's 3rd from the right on the back row. The photo probably dates from around 1913.

I created my riveted the metal the same as Tim, but then dry embossed some cogs, the wet embossed to give the cogs more definition and stamped and wet embossed one of the stamps from set. I then added by fussy cutting various other stamped elements. Some chains, pins and brads add some extra metal details.

I'm also entering this over at Simon says Stamp and Show where the theme is heroes, and I don't think their are better heroes than your own ancestors.

Halloween Marie

I've been itching to create for days now, today I finally got chance to get into my studio. Things didn't really go to plan.... but nevermind I made this Halloween Marie Hanging which I am pleased with.

I've taken a 4 x 4 piece of chipboard, covered it with some black and white polka dot paper. I then silver embossed a couple of stamps from the new Tim Holtz set Classics #7.
I then used some images from the Retrocafe, the sentiment and raven are from Crafty Secrets Halloween stamp set. I got out the modgepodge and collaged them together. I'd forgotten how I love Modgepodge :-)
Some glitter, ribbon  and lace and she's all ready.

I'm entering her into the following challenges:

Unruly PaperArts  Where the Readers Quest 1 is 4 x 4 collage.

Retro Cafe Art where there's a Facebook Halloween Challenge.

and a wildcard :-)
Just Add Ink where they're asking to see Polka Dots,

Have a great week, we're just waiting for the next storm, with gusts up to only 120km this time!

Witching Hour

I wanted to create a pretty Halloween tag rather than a darker one. I'm really enjoying the bright colours at the moment. Here's another tag created using the Dylusions sprays. I've then embossed with black powder some images from Crafty Secrets Halloween set and just peeking out from under the witch one of Tim Holtz's classic Stampers Anonymous new sets.
The witch herself is a digi from Gecko Galz new release.

I'm entering this at
simon says stamp and show-words or any stamping :-)

Collage in Blue

It's that time again :-) a new challenge over at Craft Room Challenge, we had heaps of entries for Charms and Pins, and Nikki will certainly have her work cut out to chose her Top 3.

Our next challenge is Collage and is sponsored by Indigo Blu, they have such cool stamps. I've used there Grand Tour I  for my collage tag.

I firstly covered the tag with some sponged ink, and some ticket tissue tape. I then sprayed with Dylusions Sprays- London Blue and Tempting Turquoise. I then stamped in a darker blue some of the images from the Grand Tour I set. I then added some pretty Edwardian Girls from a Gecko Galz collage sheet. I then added the sentiment and the binoculars lady again from the Grand Tour set, distressed the edges. Finally I covered the whole thing with beeswax. I think beeswax might be my favourite thing at the moment :-)

As always,  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.
