Kraft CAS

I have a Kraft CAS card for you this evening, I love the simple elegance of stamping and colouring straight onto Kraft.

I just love this now retired set from Stampin' Up!  beautiful images to colour. To colour I've used Prismacolor Pencils to give real depth of colour.

I stamped another image from the set on the inside of the card but forgot to take a photo. The sentiment is from the Curly Cute set also by Stampin' Up!

I'd like to enter this over at Allsorts Challenge, where they want to see some Kraft :-)

Craft Room challenge- Heat Embossing

We had some just beautiful entries for Julia's Vintage Stamping challenge, as always you didn't fail to disappoint.
Today's the start of a new challenge chosen by the lovely Suzanne, this is what Suzanne has to say about her chosen challenge:

"I selected my theme based on the past couple of summers we have had here in the UK - which have been far from good.  I thought we may do with a bit of "heat" although if we are at present experiencing a heatwave then the theme may prove a little unpopular as the last thing we will all want is to get those heat guns out ...whoops!  However I would love to see your heat embossing on your crafty projects......"

"HEAT EMBOSSING"

We are thrilled to have one of our regular supporters sponsor this challenge; - Stamp Addicts.

Celebrate Card
I have embossed the Ferris wheel and sentiment onto Glossy cardstock, and then using Tattered Angels Chalk based spray and Dylusions Spray I've created the sky and fireworks, nice and easy but effective :-)

I'm going to enter my card over at the renamed Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge- now the Monday Challenge the theme is Celebration.

We are currently in the midst of a swarm of Earthquakes here in Wellington, New Zealand, which has been a little nerve wracking at times :(  We are all safe but our house has some damage to it's chimney. Here's a link showing the earthquakes over a period of 48 hours that have been rattling us since friday morning there have been many more since then.

So wishing you all a Safe and Happy week.

BIG, a very delayed week 5

I'm absolutely Thrilled to have finally finished week 5 of Fearless BIG painting. I started the Fearless painting adventure many many weeks ago. in a pattern I'm determined to beat this time, as the finish approached I slowed down and seemed unable to move through week 5.

Week 5 was about painting How it Feels to be You, that was fine, and to paint the biggest we'd ever painted, that was fine too (so I thought). So I went BIG and Juicy- 4 times the size I'd been painting up till then. I started this painting in week 5.......Once I started I actually felt completely overwhelmed. I couldn't get the flow of paint quick enough on the paper. The paper seemed to demand alot of paint and the size, I was having to crawl all over the painting. I had the figure the owl and most of the background done, but the fear gremlin didn't like it.... not good enough, not this not that.
And so a big pause happened, I'd feel guilty every time I walked past the folded paper, that always seemed to be in the way! And feeling guilty being part of the Fearless Tribe, like a fraud.
Then today the urge to paint was so strong, that I just squeezed the paint on the palate and went for it.

And finally it's finished and I love it! I went over some of the previous painted bits, to brighten and add depth.

Hard to show the painting in it's fullness, here are some more:

The Owl

Red Lotus and Desert

Face

I tried not to analyse but just paint- but as I got towards the end I realised that the elements are represented as well as Day and Night, Light and Dark.

Finally to give you an idea of the size, here's a photo of the face with a pen.

Size guide, see the pen

I feel inspired now to keep going and finish BIG, with week 6 (ish) next week.

Thanks for visiting today, have a great week.

Be Mine

I seem to be making a lot of love cards at the moment, not sure what that means, perhaps I need some more Romance lol.

I had such inky messy fun creating today's card, using Glossy cardstock I inked with some Tattered Angels  Chalk spray and some Dylusions spray and finally some Gold Smooch.

Be Mine Card

I then heat embossed the image of the Lovebirds and the Be Mine Sentiment, from the Bits and Pieces RRD set.
To create the gold background, I used the Checkerboard stamp from the same set, and inked it with Gold acrylic paint, I love the uneven grungeness  :-)

Have a great rest of the week.

Gecko Galz Blue Believe card

July's new releases over at Gecko Galz are just divine :-)
Today, I'm sharing with you some of the digital stamps from Let them Eat Cupcakes and one of the papers from By the Shore Paper Pack.
I created and ATC in MDS (digital Software) using the paper and some of the stamps, I then printed this out and added it to a card base. I added some pretty details, finally fussy cutting the cupcake out- also from the Let them Eat Cupcakes stamp set.

Don't forget that Leanne at Gecko Galz is giving away some free gifts with every purchase.

Tiger Lilies in Paris

It's that time again- another Craft Room Challenge,  the delightful Julia has set the challenge of Vintage stamping (no cuties please), she wants to see your Vintage stamping style- which for me is Bliss ;)

Tiger Lilies in Paris

My friend asked me to make a special card for her sister's birthday, she adores Orange Lilies and Paris. Orange isn't a colour I often create with, but love how it's turned out, and my friend was thrilled. Lot's of masking and layering of stamps to create the overall effect.

Our sponsor is Tando Creative:

And as always there are some stunning creations from my Teamies, so please make sure you check them out.
We look forward to seeing your yummy Vintage creations.

I'm also entering my card over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges- Mail art
